Fisher Stevens, who produced the 'We Are Guardians' doc about the Amazon rainforest destruction, says these stories matter more than ever
Actor and director Fisher Stevens, who, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, produced the Amazon rainforest documentary We Are Guardians, wants people to understand why films like this are more vital than ever.
"This moment is so crucial," Stevens tells PEOPLE about the film, which is live-streaming Thursday, Oct. 23, followed by a panel with actors Bill Pullman and Maisie Williams.
The doc follows the story of Marçal Guajajara a leader of the Guajajara people in Brazil who have risked their lives to fight illegal invasion and destruction of their ancestral lands for over 400 years.
